Well, this is a brilliant start from Australia. It looks like they have very balanced team and for me they are the fav. in this world cup. So, Australia played their first worldcup match against Afganistan. They(Australia) completely outplayed Afganistan in all departments. Although, it was very tough for Afganistan to win the match against Australia because Australian team is in great form right now. Also, with the comeback of Warner and Smith they have become more stronger as a team.

Initially, Afganistan won the toss and elected to bat first. But, they were unable to score good total against good bowling attack of Australia. However, top scorer for afganistan is Najibullah Zadran( 51 runs off 49 balls) including 7 fours and 2 sixes. On the other hand , Pat cummins and Adam Zampa got 3 wickets each Stoinis got 2 wickets and Stark got 1 wicket Coulter-Nile remained wicketless.

Talking about Australian batting Finch and Warner gave really good start for their team. Specially, Finch played very smooth knock. Earlier, he had bad phase against India but now he is back with his form. After, 12 months of ban its a nice way to start the world cup, David warner looked very focused and he played a knock of 89 runs notout which will surely give him confidence for upcoming matches.

Australia got to the victory in just 34.4 overs.
